Air France pays an advance of $24K per family member to the relatives of those on Flight 447. And an Minneapolis jury sets the price of downloading an illegal MP3 at $80,000 per file.
I'm not condoning illegal downloads or plane fatalities here, but I am asking - what's going on when society's values are set this way?
Geektool = win
Just discovered GeekTool (naff name, I know), a little OSX prefpane which will let me dump the output of a few handy things to my desktop.
Like tail -f or - and this is what I really wanted - composite some beautiful desktop backgrounds from Paul Bradley with the scary horrors of my munin or cactii graph outputs.
I forsee many graphs in my future.

The Creative Freedom Foundation launches today in New Zealand to unite artists who are against the removal of New Zealander's rights through proposed changes in Copyright law, done in the name of protecting creativity.
The Creative Freedom Foundation's first campaign is against a proposed law in New Zealand: Section 92 of the Copyright Amendment Act. S92 assumes 'Guilt Upon Accusation' – cutting off internet connections and websites based on accusations of Copyright infringement, without evidence or even a trial.
